AFTER learning that he won’t be able to graduate this March, a 21-year-old student took his life by hanging in Malabon City yesterday.

Calvin Leyco, of Santan Street, Barangay Potrero, was found by his aunt, Margarita Jodel, hanging from the beam of his room’s ceiling at 9 a.m.

She said Leyco was upset these past few days when he learned that he flunked  one of his major subjects.

The victim was a Hotel and Restaurant Management student at the Our Lady of Fatima University in Valenzuela City.

Case officer PO3 Robert Miclat said Leyco looped a blanket around his neck and tied its  end around  the beam of the ceiling.

“Tumawag daw sa Mindoro sa kanyang nanay ’yung victim at sinabing hindi siya makakasama sa graduation day, kaya nagpakamatay,” Miclat said.
