Makati stays unbeaten

MAKATI  rode  on  Johnred Louise  Lugo’s  game-long brilliance to subdue Taguig, 75-72 , and complete a  five-game sweep  of  the  South  Division of the 2017 MMDA-MBT Metro Manila Sports Festival 16 years old and under  tournament  at   the Hagonoy gym.

Lugo finished with a game-high 29 points, including three three-point  shots  to  power Makati of  Mayor Abby Binay to victory over Taguig.  
Louie Jim Lime added  a double-double of  12 points and 11 rebounds for Makati, which also had  more  rebounds  (56-46), more assists (24-20) and more  steals (13-8).
Joseph Maximo finished with  24  points  for Taguig,  which closed out  with a 3-2 win-loss record.
Parañaque   routed   Pasay, 92-31, to finish second with  four wins and one loss.
Mharco Dacusayan led Parañaque with  18 points and 14 rebounds, followed by Michael Angelo Sotto with 13 points and eight  rebounds.
Las  Piñas  downed Muntinlupa,  79-74, to  barge  into the  win column  after  four setbacks.
The   18-team  competition   is  organized by the Metro Manila Development Authority    (MMDA),  headed by chairman Tim Orbos, and sponsored by Higer Bus,  World  Balance, Spalding Balls, Excellent  Noodles,  Starbread, Burlington  Socks, Summit Mineral  Water, Cobra  Energy  Drinks, Stonini, Regan Industrial Sales Inc.,  Cloudfone,  Alcoplus Alcohol, Frabelle   Foods, Grips  Hair Wax, Gadget in Style,  Synergy88  Digital,  Glitters.Ph, PLDT Alpha and  Gerry’s Grill.
