Rhum Masters play Skippers

Games today:

(Ynares Sports Arena)

12 noon – AMA vs Zark’s

2 p.m. – Tanduay vs Marinerong Pilipino

TANDUAY and Marinerong Pilipino part ways as the PBA D-League Foundation Cup continues today at the Ynares Sports Arena.

With both sides coming off their first wins of the conference, winning as many as possible this early is necessary if they want to improve their position and bolster their playoff chances.   The winner of the 2 p.m. clash will join Batangas at 2-1 behind Flying V (3-0), Racal Motors (2-0) and Cignal (4-2).
The Rhum Masters are fresh from a 13-day layoff after posting a 75-60 triumph over Centro Escolar University last June 6, while the Skippers enter the hard court carrying the momentum of last week’s shock 66-65 win over the Hawkeyes.
Coach Lawrence Chongson is hoping the dominant victory against the Scorpions will turn things around early for his squad.
“I retained 11 players from last conference at ang nilalaban ko lang naman dito is yung familiarity and chemistry ng mga players ko,” said Chongson.
Lester Alvarez, Jerwin Gaco, and Adi Santos are expected to lead the charge anew for Tanduay.
Marinerong Pilipino proved that it can match up well against the big guns like Cignal HD as coach Koy Banal is banking on the extensive preparation his side.
The Skippers are very much aware that the Rhum Masters are a veteran team.
“We gave the players ample time to rest and we’re making sure that we’re well-prepared for Tanduay. But again, we’re not focusing on our opponent but rather, on ourselves,” said Banal.
Mark Isip, Archie Inigo, and Julian Sargent will banner Marinerong Pilipino in the duel.
Cellar-dwellers AMA Online Education (0-2) and Zark’s Burgers (0-3) take the floor in the curtain raiser at 12 noon.
