TEAM R overwhelmed Team W,  131-113, to assure itself of the top spot with its fifth straight win,
even as Team Z subdued Team D, 115-91, to barge into the win column after four losses in the 2017
Wizards Basketball Club (WBC)  invitational tournament at the Knights of Columbus gym in Intramuros.

Datdat Espinosa and Joel Lim combined for 90 points between them to power Team R to a
surprisingly easy victory over Team W in this four-team,  double-round tournament sponsored by
Zucchero Cafe.

Espinosa, who established a single-game high of 53 points in Team R’s 125-122 victory over
Team W in the first round last Oct. 16, finished with 46 points, including 34 in the second half.

Lim  added 44 points, including a record 13 three-point shots.

Eni Lumague carried the fight for Team W with 47 markers.

In the first game, Team Z relied on Dino Palasigui and three other mainstays to roll back Team
D.

Palasigui fired 30 points for Team Z, which  avenged its heart-breaking 96-98  setback to Team
D in their first-round encounter.

Mike Protacio and Von Penalba  paced  Team D with 18  and 16 points, respectively.

Among those present during rthe games were  WBC  president Freddie Mozo  and PBA legend Joy
