Sweet sweep for Diaz & Galang Loft

TUGUEGARAO -- Diaz &  Galang Loft completed a double celebration by winning both the Young Birds and
Old Birds categories in the 2017 Philippine Homing Pigeon Association (PHA) North  Series here last
Nov. 19.

Diaz  & Galang Loft and  PHA-17-1701169  -- a  brown  hen out of 1 st  pair X  Lazatin line --
made a speed of  1,150.998 meter per minure to clinch top honors in the Young Birds class.
    
Rey So took the next two places behind Diaz & Galang.
    
So  and PHA-17-1701514 -- a blue check cock out of  E. Devos X R. Florizoone bloodline --  
clocked  1,138.902 meter per minute  for second place.
    
Another  So entry  -- PHA-17-1700600 and a blue heck cock out of  R. Florizoone -- timed
1,138.896  meter per minute  for third place.
    
Completing the Top 10 placers in the Young Birds class  are Egay Yap, Gino Gino Edgar Allan,  
Harry Sy, Emilio  Romero,  Egay Yap, Anson Ong  and Emilio Romero.     
    
 It was the third win for Diaz &  Galang Loft, which also topped the Young Birds category in
the second leg in  Muñoz last Nov. 12.
    
In the Old Birds category,  Diaz & Galang Loft also emerged as the winner.
 
Diaz & Galang Loft and  PHA-17-1710416-- a blue bar cock out of  Japan X 1st Pair  --

submitted a time of 1,144.445  meter per minute to take first place.
    
Anson Ong and  PHA-17-1717956 --  a blue bar cock out of  Peter Van de Merwe X  Pacquiao
bloodline-- clocked 1,128.508  meter per  minute for second place; while Edison Yap and PHA-16-1600168
-- a checkered white  flight cock out of Pure Maurice Mattheeuws origin  --  timed 1,127.313  meter
per minute for third place.
    
Joining them are Victor Tan, fourth place; Charlie Chen, fifth place; Jaime “Jimi” Lim, sixth
place; Diaz & Galang Loft, seventh place;  Henry Tan, eighth place; Jaime “Jimi” Lim, ninth place; and
Jaime “Jimi” Lim, 10th place.     
    
PHA racing chairman Nelson Chua said a total of 762 out of 1,101 birds from 63  lofts were
clocked in the Young Birds category, and 311  out of 438 birds from 37 lofts  were  clocked  in the
Old Birds class.
    
Romeo Liwag and Resty Marcos grabbed  top honors in the  first leg lin Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya
last Nov. 6 while Diaz & Galang Loft and Jaime “Jimi” Lim shared the limelight in the second leg in
Muñoz last Nov. 12.
    
The fourth leg is scheduled on Nov. 26.
