DESPITE the withdrawal of its recognition by the World Karate Federation (WKF), the Philippine Karatedo Federation-NSA Inc. (PKF), and its president Jose “Joey” Romasanta will still be given a chance to present its side during the WKF Congress scheduled Nov. 5 in Madrid, Spain.

This was contained in a letter sent to PKF and Romansanta by WKF president Antonio Espinos to PKF president Jose ‘Joey’ Romasanta dated April 17.

The WKF gave PKF and Romasanta until April 30 to confirm :”if it wishes to express its views” regarding the withdrawal of its recognition.

“Nevertheless, on the occasion of the WKF Congress in its meeting in Madrid on 5th of November 2018, your Federation will be granted the opportunity to express its views with regards to its disaffiliation of WKF, ” the statement said.

The withdrawal of recognition to PKF came after the recommendation of the WKF Executive Committee member Vincent Chen, who presented evidences to the world federation officials with the help of Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and commissioner Ramon Fernandez.

Romasanta and PKF secretary general Raymund Lee Reyes have earlier denied the allegations against them.
