Games today:

(Ynares Sports Arena)

1 p.m. – AMA vs Batangas

3 p.m. – Marinerong Pilipino vs CEU

CENTRO Escolar University takes on Marinerong Pilipino while struggling Batangas plays winless AMA in a pair of matches today in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena.

The Scorpions and the Skippers are both sporting 2-2 slates which means the winner in their 3 p.m. match will clinch solo third in the standings.

Batangas guns for its second win in five games, but has its hands full in the 1 p.m. opening tussle against AMA which could be expected to give its all in its bid to wrap up its elimination campaign with a win.

In its last outing, CEU saw its commanding 24-point lead diminish but got its acts going just in time for a 96-85 win over the Titans, and situation like this is something that Scorpions acting coach Derrick Pumaren is looking to address.

"We're still not happy. We got to play consistent basketball especially defensive-wise," said Pumaren. "We have to play defense the whole game. The attitude should change, when we're leading, we relax and I'm not happy with that."

Marinerong Pilipino, for its part, tries to rebound from last Thursday's 88-93 loss to league-leading Go for Gold.

Batangas has only a win to show in the season-ending conference as it seeks to bounce back from a 57-78 loss to Che'Lu Bar and Grill last Thursday.

Not even the return of Andre Paras could save AMA, as it absorbed its fourth consecutive defeat after bowing to CEU.

After today's doubleheader, the PBA D-League will resume on July 3 to give way to the Gilas Pilipinas' participation to the third window of the Fiba World Cup qualifiers.
