LYCEUM of the Philippines University mentor Topex Robinson will miss his team’s NCAA seniors basketball clash with Letran on Friday.

NCAA Management Committee chairman Fr. Glynn Ortega in a statement yesterday announced that Robinson was suspended for a game after the third year coach was ejected in last Thursday’s 97-93 win over Emilio Aguinaldo College.

Robinson was tossed out at the 6:21 mark of the second period due to two quick technical fouls for resentment to a call and stepping inside the court without permission from the referees.

The league’s ground rules state that any coach or player who is assessed with two technical or unsportsmanlike fouls in a game will result to an automatic suspension in the next match.

The Pirates are the only unbeaten team in the league with a 7-0 card and facing the Knights who are on a roll with three straight wins, and Robinson hopes that his troops will be up to the challenge of maintaining their perfect run.
“It’s a learning opportunity for us to be mentally tough. We trust our players to be leaders,” said Robinson after learning about his sanction.
Assistant coach Jeff Perlas will handle LPU in Robinson’s absence.
The NCAA also handed College of Saint Benilde guard Jj Domingo one-game suspension due to two unsportsmanlike fouls he committed   last Friday’s 71-101 loss to San Sebastian.
Domingo will sit out in the Blazers’ duel with Jose Rizal University on Friday.
