WHO will be this year's North and South Division chanpions in the 2018 MMDA-Metro Manila Sportsfest?
The answers will be known today when Quezon City meets Valenzuela in the North final and Makati battles Taguig in the South showdown at the San Isidro Sports Complex in Makati.
Games start at 6 p.m. with the winners bagging the title in their respective divisions while earning the right to dispute the overall championship in the 16 years old and ynder competition organized by the Metro Manila Developmrnt Authority (MMDA) as part of President Duterte's anti-drug campaign.
Quezon City, which is seeking to win the title under Mayor Herbert Bautista and coach John Paul Ycasiano, earned the right to play in the final by eliminating Manila, 97-87; in their knockout semifinal in this event which has Mobile App ng Bayan Barangay 143 and Synergy 88, as major sponsors and Spalding as official ball.
Valenzuela advanced to the final after taking the place of Mandaluyong, which begged off due to more pressing commitments.
The South final set at 7:30 p.m. will pit Makati, the only unbeaten team in the tournament with seven victories, and Taguig, the No 2 squad.
Makati slammed the door on San Juan, 75-54, while Taguig eliminated Pasay, 93-79, in a pair of knockout semis matches in the South.
