DAREDEVIL Bornok Mangosong reasserted his supremacy as he turned back the spirited challenges of the young turks to capture the MMF Supercross Championship overall title at the MX Messiah Fairgrounds in Taytay, Rizal.
The pride of Davao actually trailed up and coming star Jerick Mitra after four legs in the premier Pro Open category but erased all doubts of his superiority after driving his Yamaha YZ 450F to victories in the fifth and sixth legs of the series before an adoring crowd.
As the dust settled, Mangosong of United Athletes Mindanao, finished the series sponsored by Yamaha Motor Philippines, Inc.,Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp., Dunlop Tires PH, Rich Bian Taxi, Potato Corner, Coffee Grounds, Win Radio and Best Taytay with 140 overall points, two points ahead of Mitra, who banners team 87 Racing.
Ompong Gabriel tried his best to upstage the leaders but had to settle for third with 133 points, followed by Jolet Jao(85 points and JC Rellosa (80 points).
‘‘I am still high from all the miracles that happened, maraming salamat sa lahat. To God be all the glory. Salamat Lord Jesus Christ,’’ said race organizer and Pastor Sam Tamayo of Generation Congregation.
Veteran Pia Gabriel took the ladies title followed by Jasmin Jao and Quiana Reyes.
