DPS noses out Claret in YBC

DILIMAN Preparatory School relied on  the  hot  hands of  Jerson Anonuevo to nose out Claret School, 71-69, in the boys 12 years old and under category in the Youth Basketball Cup Summer Showdown at the DPS gym  in Commonwealth Ave., Quezon City.

Anonuevo, who was named Best Player of the Game, finished with  game-high 31 points, five rebounds, five assists and two steals to power the Blue Dragons to victory.

Sto. Nino humbled Adamson, 80-60, behind  Mon Catedrilla’s 18 points, five assists and three steals  in the boys 15 under class.

In the girls 18 years old and under division,  King’s Montessori blasted Assumption, 89-29, with  Camille Nolasco leading the way with 18 points, three rebounds and three assists.

The tournament resumes today  (April 22) with five games highlighted by the 25-under match between Diliman College and Manila Patrotic School at 4 p.m.
In ther matches, it will be SNNS against Warriors in the 12-under at 10 a.m.;     MPS against DPS in the 13 under at 11:30 a.m.;  SNNS bersus Note Dame in the 15 under at 1 p.m.; and MYC against DPS in the 17 under at 2:30 p.m.
On April 23, the matches will pit  Claret against Cainta in the 12 under at 10 a.m.; ERDSCI against Warriors in the 13 under at 11:30 a.m. and DPS against RV Club in the 15 under at 1 p.m.
The summer-long tournament is supported  by former Sen. Nikki  Coseteng and  sponsored by  Gerry’s Grill, Pocari Sweat, Hygenix, Splash International, Tom’s World, Rebisco,  Jecar, Fresh  Cut  Barber Shop and Jollibee.
