2 p.m. -- JRU vs. Letran (S)

4 p.m. --Mapua vs. EAC (S)

JOSE Rizal University and Letran clash in a key  battle  for the No. 3 ranking today in the NCAA seniors basketball tournament at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

Coming  from  overtime losses to start their respective second round campaigns, the Bombers and the Knights are going all-out to get back on the winning track in the 2 p.m. match.
Emilio Aguinaldo College takes on Mapua University in the day’s other game at 4 p.m.
Holding a 6-4 card in third spot, JRU is ahead by a full game of joint fourth placers Letran and idle San Sebastian.
Trying to stay on track for a return Final Four stint, coach Vergel Meneses wants his Bombers to stay focused in this crucial stage of the tournament.
JRU hopes to erase the sting of last Friday’s 109-115 defeat to Arellano University, where the Mandaluyong-based cagers crumbled in the second overtime after a game-saving triple by Zach Nicholls and negated Teytey Teodoro’s 30-point outburst.
“It was a heartbreaking loss. I told them to learn from it. It may happen again in our remaining games. At least, they know how to react now. Listening sa instructions is very important. Yan ang motivation ko sa kanila,” said Meneses.
It’s now up to the Bombers how to move on from the meltdown against the Chiefs, especially with a tough Knights team.
“I know we will bounce back. Stay focused and let’s beat teams we beat in the first round. Just worry on ourselves and not the other team,” said Meneses.
The Generals, who at 4-6 are trailing the Knights and the Stags by one game in the race for the last Final Four race, are tipped to prevail against the Cardinals.
