NJHS, Titan 8 share limelight

THE much-awaited Arceegee X PYD Tatluhan Showcase finally hit the road last Sept. 22-23 with Nino Jesus House of Studies topping the Manila leg and Titan 8 ruling the Quezon Province stop.

NJHS defeated Team Oflear in the finals to emerge as the first champion in the four-part 3-on-3 competition organized by the Pinoy Youth Dreamers, the most successful youth basketball program in the country, and sponsored  by Arceegee, the fast-growing sportswear provider.

Jan Daniel Geronimo teamed up KD Prolles, Juncel Nudo and Jhunerits Martin to lead NJHS to the championship in the tournament which attracted 20 teams.

Geronimo was named Most Valuable Player.

Rinbert Galarde of Arceegee delivered  the inspirational remarks during the opening ceremony also attended by PYD president Beaujing Acot.

In Quezon Province leg last Sept. 23,  Titan 8 emerged as champion and Ameer Nikko Aguilar as MVP.

Chicoy Capistrano of Batis Aramin Hotel and Resort ans Vino Veluz of Buddy's Pancit Lucban hosted the one-day event which drew teams from Lucena, Candelaria, Lucban, Tayabas, Cavite and Laguna.

There are two more legs in the schedule:

Bulacan leg- Venue: Villa Desta Basketball Covered Court, Brgy. Atlag, Malolos, Bulacan, Sept. 29. Contact: Coach Mel Arcena (0906-3564625), Coach Mark Domingo (0915-1231873).

Malabon leg -- Venue: Barangay Tonsuya Basketball Court, Malabon, Oct. 6. Contact: Coach Okkin Cartago (0945-8443086)

The overall champion will earn the right  to represent the country in the Dreamers International 3on3 Basketball Challenge scheduled Nov. 2-4,2018 in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam.
