PHILIPPINE National Police chief Director General Oscar D. Albayalde yesterday said there will be swift justice for slain Nueva Ecija priest Fr. Richmond Nilo.

The PNP chief flew to Nueva Ecija to express his deep sympathy to Bishop Sofronio Bancud and the entire Diocese of Nueva Ecija before briefing the Bishop on the status of the investigation into the killing of Fr. Nilo of Zaragosa, Nueva Ecija.

During their meeting, Gen. Albayalde assured Bishop Bancud that the arrest of the perpetrators and solution of the case is of utmost priority for the PNP particularly for the Police Regional Office 3.

Bishop Bancud, together with priests from the Diocese, personally thanked Albayalde for his overwhelming support to the swift resolution of the murder.

On Monday, Albayalde directed PRO3 director Chief Superintendent Amador V. Corpus to solve “as soon as possible” Father Nilo’s case and that of Father Paez last December 2017.

“There should be no rest and no holiday ever, until we put these heartless criminals behind bars.” he said.

Gen. Albayalde was joined by the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group head, Director Roel B.Obusan, in his meeting with the clergy to ensure national headquarters provide crucial support to the investigators of PRO3.
