ON Valentine’s Day President Rodrigo Duterte flew back to Davao City to be with his long-time partner Cielito ‘Honeylet’ Avaceña and daughter Veronica or ‘Kitty.’
“Siyempre, it’s Valentine’s (of course, it’s Valentine’s),” the President told reporters.
He said no storm can prevent him from going home for the special occasion.
Tropical depression ‘Basyang’ has just wreaked havoc in Mindanao, mainly in Surigao del Sur, and killed 8 persons.
Duterte did not have an official schedule on Valentine’s Day.
Before returning to his hometown, the President last night welcomed back 116 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who arrived from Kuwait.
Each of the workers received P15,000 in financial aid and some grocery items.
The repatriation from Kuwait of Filipino workers are taking place amid the Philippine government’s ban on new deployment of OFWs to the gulf state.
Duterte ordered the ban following the abuses that many OFWs experience in Kuwait from their employers.
