NEWLY-elected Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials were urged not to spend time and resources on holding basketball tournaments and rap contests.
Instead, they were encouraged to participate in the government’s anti-drug program by influencing more people or those of their age to keep away from the drug vice.
Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) chairman Secretary Catalino Cuy told the young officials to strengthen the illegal drugs campaign in their respective communities.
About 100 SK members and Pederasyon Presidents from different cities and provinces across the country were gathered in a three-day summit at Hive Hotel, Quezon City.
Spearheaded by the DDB with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and National Youth Commission (NYC), the program seeks to consolidate and standardize action plans that will ensure full participation of SKs in pursuing the anti-drug priorities of the government.
