Triker dies, another critical in Batangas gun attacks

CAMP Gen. Miguel, Malvar, Batangas -- A tricycle driver was shot dead while an unemployed man was in critical condition after being shot by unidentified assailants in Lipa City and Rosario town, provincial police PIO chief Senior Insp. Hazel P. Luma-ang said the other day.

A report to Batangas police director Senior Supt. Edwin Aguilan Quilates by two police stations commanders identified the two victims as Fernando Reyes Aguillera Jr. and Mark Lenard Ebreo Gonzales.

Lipa City Police Station head Supt. Geovanny Emerick A. Sibalo said Aguillera was on his way home driving his tricycle at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and approaching Sauz Subd., Bgy. Sabang, when shot by an unidentified suspect, who quickly fled.

The victim succumbed to gunshot wounds in the head and body.

Rosario police head Supt. Erickson B. Roranes also reported that Ebreo was standing and hanging around in Bgy. Poblacion Night Market when suddenly the unidentified suspect arrived and shot him at point-blank range.

The suspect quickly escape onboard a motorcycle while the bloodied victim was rushed to Sto. Rosario Hospital.
