CAMP Simeon Ola, Legazpi City -- A certain Bryan Ocfemia found his cousin Alfie Nido, 32, hanging on a nylon cord rope looped around his neck at 3:50 a.m. Sunday in Sitio Guisanglay, Bgy. Calzada, Guinobatan, Albay.

Guinobatan police investigators said Nido has a standing warrant for rape, which was reportedly the motive of the victim to kill himself allegedly to avoid arrest.
Two other suicide cases were reported late last week in Bacon District, Sorsogon City, and in Magarao, Camarines Sur, involving a 19-year-old high school student and a 62-year-old man.
The PNP regional office reported that San Isidro National High School student Jason Dollesin Quitula, of Sitio Marirong, Bacon, was found hanging dead on a nylon cord tied to a “buhukan tree” in front of his house.
Angelica Dollesin Babasa, who found her cousin dead, told police, she had no idea why the victim killed himself.
In Bgy. Bell, Magarao, Ely Avila Relucano, 62, was also found hanging dead on a nylon rope inside their house by his son Richard Luna, 31. Reportedly the victim got emotionally stressed after a heated argument with his 70-year-old wife Gloria Luna.
In Albay province, PPO chief investigator Chief Insp. Arthur Gomez said that PNP records showed 21 males and three females were among the 24 recorded suicide cases in 2016 (18 single, two married and four widows), he said.
