Unidentified skeletal remains believed to be for a woman was found in the middle of corn plantations in Malamig, Bgy. San Jose, San Pablo City, Laguna, on Wednesday afternoon.
According to SPO1 Romeo Alejandro, officer-on- case, said the skeletal remains were discovered at 12:30 p.m. by a farmer Enrique Uvas, 48, of Bgy. Paule 2, Rizal, Laguna, while harvesting corn.
Investigation by SPO1 Jessie Salado showed that a barangay official had said a week ago that an unidentified woman called up about a female person dumped into the corn plantation.
Barangay officials immediately tried to search the vicinity of the corn plantations in the area but got negative result.
SPO1 Alejandro also said that three weeks ago, a certain Joana Garcia Ramirez, 43, of Silang, Cavite, went to San Pablo Police Station for the blotter of her abducted daughter Wendy Ellaine Garcia Ramirez wh has been missing for almost two months.
A week ago, she received a phone call about the whereabouts of her daughter.
Investigators said the woman caller may have knowledge about the killing of the victim who was dumped in the corn plantations.
Meanwhile, police are still waiting for the DNA result which was conducted by Scene of Crime Operatives (SOCO) for the identification of the victim.
