A policeman was killed when suspected members of the New People’s Army (NPA) harassed a police station the other day in Madela, Quirino.
The identity of the slain cop was not yet available as of press time.
Sketchy reports reaching Camp Crame showed that the incident occurred at around 10:45 p.m.
Initial investigation showed that at least 100 rebels stormed the Madela Police Station and commandeered two vehicles.
The victim resisted so he was shot by the rebels.
After the incident, the suspects fled towards nearby Bgy. San Pedro.
Elements of Quirino Police immediately conducted a follow-up operation, resulting in the recovery of the two patrol vehicles that were commandeered by the rebels.
