CITY of San Fernando, Pampanga -- A suspected drug pusher here was killed in an armed encounter with the police while four other suspects were arrested in Mabalacat town the other day.

Senior Supt. Nicolas Salvador, acting Pampanga police director, identified the slain suspect as Raven Caligner, 25.

He was killed during a buy-bust operation wherein he sensed that he and his companion just sold a sachet of shabu to a policeman and immediately drew his gun and fired but missed.

The duo then ran towards the grassy portion of Bgy. Malpitic while exchanging fire with pursuing policemen. Calig-ner was hit and killed while his cohort was able to escape.

A cal. .38 revolver with four live ammunition and two spent shells, six plastic sachets of shabu and the marked P500 bill used in the operation were confiscated from the suspect’s body.

In Bgy. Sta. Lucia, this city, police arrested one Elsa Pamintuan, 40, in a separate buy-bust operation that also resulted in the seizure of nine plastic sachets of shabu.

In Mabalacat City, police arrested Anthony Daniel Cortez, 32, Emerson Maylos, 21, and Raniel Lagman, 22, in a buy-bust operation in Bgy. Dau.

Eleven sachets of shabu were confiscated from the suspects.

Salvador said all operations were made in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency. He said charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 were filed against the suspects for possession and selling of illegal drugs.
