CAMP Olivas, Pampanga -- The leadership of the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) here has ordered the dissolution of all police anti-drug units and ordered all provincial and city directors and town police chiefs to concentrate on anti-crime operations.
PRO3 director Chief Supt. Amador Corpus particularly tasked police officers in Central Luzon to go after riding-in-tandem and other motorcycle-riding criminals that taint the image and reputation of the Philippine National Police.
Corpus said the dissolution of regional, provincial, city and municipal anti-drug units is in accordance with the directive of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency to take sole responsibility in the war against drugs.
Corpus said PNP chief Director Gen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa has also directed all police officials in the country to reduce the occurrence of shooting incidents by motorcycle-riding gunmen and focus on preventing street crimes by going after criminals.
“We are always on our toes in implementing our intensified focused police operations as we keep our eyes always open against lawless elements and their activities. Crime prevention is a 24-hour task and is a serious business to be handled by us in the PNP. My marching order of the “No Text while on Duty Policy” is strictly being observed by police personnel performing field duties so as to concentrate on providing public safety and security,” he said.
He said investigation being handled by the police under the jurisdiction of the PRO3 will be turned over to PDEA, which is led now by former PRO3 director Aaron Aquino.
