THE local government of Amadeo, tagged as the “Coffee capital of the Philippines,” is all set for the three-day Pahimis Coffee Festival, starting today until April 23.
The annual festivity is a traditional celebration for the bountiful harvest of coffee, the town’s prime agricultural crop. Along with the celebration comes the showcasing of the best brews for the coffee connoisseurs joining the festival.
Various contests like “Amadeo Latte Art Throw Down” and “Barista challenge” are lined up to attract and promote the coffee harvest of Amadeo.
Town Mayor Albert Ambagan Sr., together with Tourism Assistant Secretaries Frederick Alegre and Maria Lourdes Japson will grace the program and lead the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening of the festivities.
The local government invites everyone to be part of the annual “Pahimis” starting today. The three-day festivities will feature street dancing, trade fair, cultural shows and various competitions for the promotion of the Amadeo coffee.
