GOVERNMENT agents last Tuesday uprooted and destroyed an estimated P9 million worth of fully-grown marijuana plants and seedlings found being grown in in Cebu City, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency chair Director General Aaron N. Aquino said.
Aquino said combined operatives of the PDEA Regional Office 7, the Cebu Provincial Police Office and the Central Visayas Naval Intelligence Security Group conducted the marijuana eradication operation in Sitio Guardia and Sitio Mapa in Bgy. Tagba-o, Cebu City.
The official said the operation was launched on a tip of a concerned citizen.
Aquino said the raiders uprooted 8,380 fully-grown marijuana plants worth P3.4 million in Sitio Guardia and another 14,152 cannabis plants worth P5.7 million in nearby Sitio Mapa.
No arrests were made during the operation.
