DAET, Camarines Norte -- Notorious local drug pusher Wendel de Guzman was charged with violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office here after he was arrested at his home for possession of illegal drugs in Purok 4, Bgy. 4, Mercedes, by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

PDEA operatives reported during the weekend that after a month of surveillance, search warrant 44-2017 was issued by a Regional Trial Court in this town against De Guzman, which led to the recovery of 13 plastic sachets containing methamphetamine hydrochloride with a weight of 60.402 grams worth P300,000.
The PDEA reported that De Guzman’s arrest will reduce the illegal drug trade in the province, particularly in the towns of Daet and Mercedes, tagged as distribution areas of the suspect.
Meanwhile, in Legazpi City, Senior Supt. Nilo Berdin said a drug pusher arrested recently had surrendered under the PNP’s Oplan Tokhang and Double Barrel last year.
The suspect, identified as Michael Miranda, 37, yielded seven plastic sachets of shabu. This despite   a program being offered by the city government, under Mayor Noel Rosal, to avail of alternative jobs or livelihood for drug surrenderers, Berdin added.
