A MOTORCYCLE rider accosted by policemen manning a checkpoint in San Jose del Monte City in Bulacan
for driving without a crash helmet found himself in much deeper trouble after he was found in
possession of an unlicensed gun and an estimated P30,000 worth of shabu Tuesday night, Bulacan police
director Senior Supt. Romeo M. Caramat Jr. said.

Suspect Marvin Ramirez, 36, of Block 27, Lot 18, Road 5, Bgy. Minuyan IV, San Jose del Monte
City, was accosted while passing along EVR Avenue in Bgy. San Martin 1 at 7 p.m. by members of the San
Jose del Monte City Police Station headed by Supt. Fitz Macariola, the Bulacan police director said.
Caramat said the suspect acted suspiciously while being signaled by an officer to stop for
routine inspection and even tried to escape but was held by a lawman.
The suspect was arrested when officers found a cal. .38 revolver with five live ammunition
from his waistline. He also yielded 12 small plastic packets of suspected shabu (six grams) worth
P30,000 and a digital weighing scale. His Rusi motorcycle was impounded by the police.
The suspect faces charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms
and Ammunition Regulations Act of 2013 and RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002,
said Caramat.
