Manhunt launched for cop in triker’s gun attack

CABANATUAN City -- Manhunt operations are being launched for the arrest of a police officer, who
allegedly shot and wounded a tricycle driver here last Tuesday.

City police commander Supt. Ponciano P. Zafra said PO3 Florante Musngi, of Bgy. Sumacab
Este, this city, was tagged as the principal suspect in the shooting of Arnel de Guzman, 46, of
Villa Benita Subd., Bgy. H. Concepcion, in the said subdivision at 2:15 p.m.
De Guzman sustained gunshot wounds in the body and was rushed to Nueva Ecija Doctors’
Musngi is assigned at the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, Zambales Police Provincial
Office (ZPPO) and currently on temporary duty at the Subic Police Station.
Zafra said he had already coordinated with Chief Insp. Pancho D. Doble, Musngi’s immediate
superior at the ZPPO, to ask the lawman to surrender peacefully.
He said they have taken the sworn affidavit/complaint of the victim for filing of frustrated
murder charges against the lawman before the City Prosecutor’s Office.
