Man dies in Batangas mishap

A 34-YEAR-OLD jobless man died on the spot when the motorcycle he was riding accidentally collided with a private jeepney on Pres J. P. Laurel Highway, Bgy. Santiago, Malvar, Batangas on Sunday morning.

Larry Lucos Persincula, single, of Bgy. I, Lipa  City, sustained injuries in the body and died instantly, Malvar police chief Senior Insp. Arwin Baby Caimbon said.
Investigation by PO2 Samuel P. Diesta disclosed that the jeepney (DKB-4450) registered to Ruben Lopez Britania, of Bgy. Lumbangan, Rosario, driven by Christian Bonifacio Benedicto, 27, single, of the same barangay, was heading to Tanauan City proper.
Upon reaching Bgy. Santiago, a Honda XRM (DL 1620) registered to Michael D. de Lina driven by Per-sincula was cruising the opposite lane towards Lipa City when it accidentally hit the front portion of the jeepney, causing it to swerve and hit a sari-sari store.
According to Joy Bintoy Dementais, the victim’s live-in partner, Persincula was under the influence of liquor when the incident happened.
Benedicto surrendered to the police station.
