LIPA City -- A 21-year-old crewman was declared dead at the hospital while his back rider was seriously hurt when the motorcycle they were riding hit the roadside rails in Bgy. Bolbok, here, early Tuesday morning.

Case officer PO3 Edwin Mojado Navarro identified the fatality as Christian Paolo Morales, single, a Hungry Hippo crew from Bgy. Lipahan, San Juan, Batangas.

Case officer PO3 Edwin Mojado Navarro’s initial investigation showed that at 12:20 a.m., Morales and his back rider, Mitchico de Guzman Lajara, 22, of Poblacion, San Juan, were on board a Motorstar motorcycle (HK 6894) heading to Bgy. Sampaguita.

Upon reaching Bgy. Bolbok, the vehicle went out of control and swerved to the left side until it hit the iron railings and fell down, the investigator said.

As a result, the driver and his back rider sustained injuries in their head and their bodies.

The victims were rushed by residents in the area to the hospital where Morales was pronounced dead on arrival by attending physician Dra. Elvira Japlit.

Lajara is still undergoing treatment.

Morales’ body now lies at the hospital morgue.
