Camp Brig. Gen. Vi-cente Lim, Bgy. Canlubang, Calamba City, Laguna -- Police recovered the get-away vehicle believed to be used by the suspect in the killing of Trece Martires Vice Mayor Alex Lubigan and his driver Romulo Guillemerint.
Cavite police director Senior Supt. Wille Segun said they recieved a call from a concerned citizen that a black Toyota Hilux was found abandoned at Mabagao-Pantihan Bridge, Bgy. Tulay B, Magarondon, at 6:55 a.m. yesterday.
The vehicle has no plate number or conduction sticker.
A Scene of the Crime Operatives team is still processing the vehicle for any finger prints and other evidence.
Meantime, the reward offered for the identification of the suspects was raised to P400,000.
Cavite Rep. Alex Advincula added another P200,000, the same amount earlier offered by 6th district Rep. Luis Ferrer.
Also, Kristine Lubigan Lucero, in a statement asked the police for swift justice so that what happened to his brother will not be neglected.
Calabarzon police director Chief Supt. Edward Carranza said investigators are looking into politics as the possible motive behind Lubigan’s killing.
Lubigan, who was serving his third term, would have announced his 2019 candidacy for mayor on Monday, relatives said during his wake.
