Lemery’s most wanted arrested

LEMERY, Batangas -- Police on Monday reported the arrest of an overseas Filipino worker who has been charged with murder during the serving of a warrant of arrest in his residence in Payapa, here.

Police identified the suspect as Simeon Gamboa Vergara, 48, married, of the said village.

Local policemen led Chief Alfie Maluenda Salang, local police head, conducted an operation at 12:30 p.m. and arrested the accused by virtue of a warrant for murder under Criminal Case No. 20-2000 issued by Judge Eutiquio l. Quitain of the Regional Trial Court Branch 5, of Lemery, dated January 26, 2004, with no bail recommended.

Salang said the accused is listed no. 1 on the Top 10 most wanted persons under Manhunt Charlie of this police station.
