CAMP Pantaleon Garcia, Imus City, Cavite -- Typhoon Salome brought only rains and moderate winds in Cavite and but heavy rains and floods in Laguna.
The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council of Cavite reported no casualty but has yet to assess damage to property in the cities and municipalities of the province.
The flood-prone places like Bacoor, Kawit, Rosario and Tanza municipalities were not affected and since the suspensions of public and private school classes were announced traffic in some strategic junctions and street corners were just minimal and passable.
Meanwhile in Laguna, the continuous heavy rains brought about by the typhoon flooded several barangays in the province late Thursday night.
According to Rommel Palacol, head of Laguna Action Center, seven barangays in the town of Mabitac were under flood water.
Worst flooded was Bgy. Nanguma where the road towards Manila East Road were impassable to small types of vehicle due to knee-deep flood water.
Also under water were Bgys. San Antonio, Libis, Bayanihan, Lambak, Pagasa anbd Sinagtala.
There was a clearing operation at Bgy. Imoc in the town of Calauan town due to landslide.
A family was evacuated in Paete town due to floodings while three families were evacuated in Los Baños.
In Pangil, Bgys. Isla, San Jose, Balian and Natividad were also under water while flood water at Bgy. San Juan, Kalayaan town, had subsided.
Also, 15 out of 20 barangays in Siniloan town also experienced floodings.
