Inmate uses ‘hard breathing’ ploy to escape

October 30, 2018

ANGONO, Rizal -- An inmate of the Angono Custodial Center managed to escape after he struck a policeman who would escort him to hospital after complaining of  ‘hard breathing’ inside the cell last Monday afternoon.

Suspect Jesus Dela Cruz went to his liberty after he struck the right eyebrow of a certain PO3 Abainza, the duty police officer.

Police said another inmate identified as Erwin Murillo told PO3 Abainza about the situation of suspect Dela Cruz.

As the cop open the cell of the inmates, Dela Cruz hit the cop using his fist, sending the policeman to the floor. The suspect dashed outside, climbed the next establishment and ran towards M. Diaz and Ibañez St. in Bgy. Sto. Niño where he disappeared.

It was noted that all common illnesses complained by inmates around Calabarzon are hard breathing due to congested jails.
