Ilocos Sur suspends classes, works due to ‘Rosita’

VIGAN City, Ilocos Sur

-- Gov. Ryan Singson suspended for three days

-- October 29 to 31 -- all classes in all levels, private and public and works in the province in anticipation of Typhoon Rosita.

In Executive Order No. 28, Singson ordered the suspension of classes while government workers rendered half-day today but he clarified that work in private sectors will be under the discretion of the company.

He said Ilocos Sur maybe one of the possible areas to be traversed by Typhoon Rosita and that heavy rains and strong winds are expected to hit the province.

“Whereas, to ensure public welfare and safety there is a need to protect the lives and to minimize the damage to properties of our people from the possible adverse effects of Typhoon Rosita,” the governor said in his memorandum.

He also directed the 32 town mayors and two city mayors to be on alert and will get in touch with him for any untoward incident brought about by the incoming typhoon.
