Hundreds of hot logs found in 5 Quezon towns

CAMP Brig. Gen. Vicente Lim, Bgy. Canlubang, Calamba City, Laguna -- Hundreds of illegally cut logs were found abandoned in five towns of Quezon province last Tuesday.

At Bgy. Laguna, Gumaca town, 80 pieces of 2x6x12 flitches of coco lumber totalling 960 board feet worth P17,280 were found abandoned.

In Bgy. Inabuan, San Francisco town, 50 pieces (300 bd. ft.) of coco lumber worth P3,000 were also found which at 3 p.m. while in Bgy. San Vicente, Gen. Luna, 52 bd. ft. of ‘antipolo tree’ worth P1,560 were found.

In Perez town, eight narra logs (48 bd. ft. worth P3,840) were found at Bgy. Pagkakaisa and in Ca-tanauan municipality, cut and sliced coco lumber were recovered from a certain Diosdado Penaranda Regio.

Aside from the coco lumber, a chain saw was also recovered.

The said person has no permit from the DENR to cut the said trees so he was apprehended.
