A GRADE 12 student on Friday committed suicide by hanging after he was scolded by his sisters over poor school performance in Tiwi, Albay.

Victim Raymond Cardiño Borlasa, 18, a student of Agro-Industrial School, was found hanging from the beam of the second floor of their house at Purok 5, Bgy. Bagumbayan, Tiwi town.

Raymond’s father, Cesar Cruzada Borlasa, told the police that it was his wife Soledad who found their son hanging, with a plastic straw he tied around his neck and the other end on a beam.

Hoping that Raymond would still survive, the family rushed him to the Cruel Medical Clinic in Libtong, Tiwi, where he was declared dead on arrival by Dr. Leonides Cruel.

An investigation showed that prior to the suicide, Raymond was scolded by his elder sisters Rosalie and Renelda for not performing well in school.

Police said later in the evening of the same day, the victim was found hanging at the second floor of their unfinished house.
