Police last Saturday reported that a Grade 1 pupil from Tanauan City, who failed to return home while
visiting their neighbor, was found dead in a grassy area near their home by her cousin.

The victim was identified as Kate Chloe Esteron delos Reyes, 6, of Purok 2, Bgy. Talaga,
Tanauan City.
Around 5 p.m. on November 11, the Tanauan City Police Station received a telephone call from
Ramon delos Santos, father of the victim, who reported that his daughter was found dead in a grassy
portion about 100 meters away from their house.
Case officers SPO4 Edwin A. Mejorada and SPO1 Froilan T. Quisquino said that at about 3 p.m.
on November 10, the victim went to the house of their neighbor, Lorna Balcuba, to watch television but
failed to return home.
The parents of the victim went to their neighbor’s house but Balcuba told them that the victim
left their house right away because she was sleepy.
They asked help from their neighbors and barangay officials and they searched every corner in
their area all night long until Albert Agrao delos Reyes, the cousin of the victim, found the girl in
a grassy portion in the field at 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 11.
The local police asked the assistance of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) to process
the crime scene and conduct an autopsy on the victim.
