DASMARIÑAS City, Cavite -- Barangay tanods arrested a 29-year-old man who robbed a house using a fake gun just to frighten the victims last Tuesday afternoon.
Police said suspect Mark Centeno, of Blk. 62, Lot 24, Zone 7, Bautista Property, this city, entered the house of Gloria Omongos, 48, and took a Cherry Mobile phone, P3,800 cash and a key of the victim’s motorcycle.
However, before the suspect could leave the place, he was caught by the victim in the act.
The suspect poked a cal. .45 gun at the victim, who shouted for help, drawing the attention of patrolling barangay tanods who ran after the suspect that led to his arrest.
The gun turned out to be only a replica of cal. .45.
Aside from robbery, the suspect was also charged with illegal possession of firearm in relation to the Omnibus Election Code.
Meanwhile in the City of General Trias, police caught a rape suspect, who had been hiding for years in Bgy. Santiago, at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
The suspect was identified as Toribio Orias, 36, of LRTA Subd., Bgy. Santiago, GenTri.
Police were given a tip that the suspect has standing rape case in his hometown in Matag-ob, Leyte and rank no. 1 most wanted person in the province of Leyte.He has a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Maria Corazon S. Vergara-Naraja at RTC Ormoc City.
SPO2 Ruel Portuquez Quitquitan of the Warrant Section of General Trias City PNP, under Supt. Paul T. Bometivo, GenTri police chief, arrested the suspect.
Another wanted person, Angelo Santos, of Bgy. Mataas na Lupa, Indang, Cavite, was arrested for illegal possession of a firearm.
A team under Chief Insp. Resty E. Soriano, chief of police of Indang, arrested him at 10 a.m. at South Ville, Trece Martires City.
