AGENTS of the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group yesterday captured a former town mayor in Bohol wanted for multiple murder in Leyte.
PNP-CIDG chief Director Benjamin Magalong said Exuperio Lloren, a former mayor of Jagna, Bohol, who uses the aliases “Exusperado Lloren/Exempario Lloren/Macion/Berting/Eksan/Nilo/Johnny,” was arrested by members of the 7th Regional Criminal Investigation and Detection Group headed by Sr. Supt. Ritchie Posadas in Bgy. Pahina, Jagna municipality.
The arresting officers were armed with a warrant of arrest for 15 counts of murder, with no bail recommended.
Magalong said the warrant stemmed from the discovery in 2006 of mass graves in Inopacan, Leyte, where the victims were believed to have been summarily executed by New People’s Army guerillas.
Lloren was said to be involved in the purging activities of the NPA.
Operatives of the 7th RCIDU were assisted by members of the Bohol Police Provincial Office, the Jagna Municipal Police Station and the Military Intelligence Group 7 in making the arrest.
The suspect is now being held at the local CIDG detention facility pending his turnover to court. With report from
