Ecija vape shop robbed by vendor, boy, 11

GENERAL Tinio, Nueva Ecija -- A vape shop was burglarized by a 23-year-old ice crumble vendor and an
11-year-old boy, who carted away P24,050 in cash and vape merchandise here last Tuesday.

Senior Insp. Joey Cabatin, town police commander, identified the suspect-vendor as Edwin de
Guzman Jr., 23, alias Lupin, of Purok Ubas, Bgy. Concepcion; and his minor cohort as a son of a
barangay tanod in the area.
Robbed was the Fat Boys Vape Shop located in Purok Bayabas, Bgy. Concepcion, that is owned
by Gerold Soriano, 26, of Bgy. Bayanihan, Gapan City.
 Carted away were several vape products described as two pieces of Aegis MOD, two Charon
vapes-MOD, two Kalasag vapes MOD, one V-god, eight Atomizers, a charger, five bottles of e-cigarette
juice, a rechargable battery and P1,400 in cash, for a total amount of P24,050.
 Based on CCTV footages installed in the area, Cabatin said the heist was perpetrated by two
persons between 2 and 4 a.m. He said one of them smashed the window glass before barging into the
shop while the other walked around the vape shop, serving as lookout.
It turned out, Cabatin said, that the suspect, who forcibly entered the vape shop was the 11
-year-old son of a barangay tanod.  
He said De Guzman Jr. was subsequently arrested after it was learned that it was the latter,
who ordered the boy to rob said vape shop.
Cabatin said the recovered seven pieces of vape Mod, five Atomizer, charger, a re-chargeable
battery and two bottles of e-cigarette juice were returned by the boy to barangay authorities.
Charges of robbery are being readied for filing against De Guzman Jr. before the provincial
prosecutor’s office.
