Ecija ‘gun-for-hire’ held for gun, bullets

PALAYAN City -- An alleged member of a criminal syndicate, said to be involved in gun-for-hire,
robbery-hold-up and gun-running activities, was arrested during a search operation by combined
operatives of the Nueva Ecija Criminal Investigation and Detection Group and the local police here
last Wednesday.

Nabbed was Roderick Rugayan, of Bgy. Sapang Buho, this city. He was tagged as a member of the
Peralta Group, whose alleged illicit operations involve robbery-holdups, gunrunning and gun-for-hire
activities in the province and neighboring areas.
Chief Insp. Francisco Aldrich D. Garcia, NE-CIDG provincial officer, said the alleged gang
member is also included among identified motorcycle-riding suspects being monitored by the CIDG.
Garcia said Rugayan was arrested at his house during the implementation of a search warrant
for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act issued
by Judge Ana Marie C. Joson-Viterbo, of the Cabanatuan City Regional Trial Court.
Seized from him were a cal. .40 Norinco pistol, with three magazine clips and six live bullets
and 13 fired shells for the same gun ammunition.
