Deadly love triangle

PENARANDA, Nueva Ecija — A love triangle on Sunday ended in the death of a 42-year-old man who caught his wife talking to another man in a chance encounter in this town.

Killed was Jerry Bribon, a construction worker, of Bgy. San Josef, this municipality.

The suspect was Augusto Espiritu Jr., 33, jobless, also a resident of the village.

Jerry’s wife, Rosalyn, 39, was talking with the suspect in Bgy. Poblacion at around 9:50 p.m. on Sunday when the victim, who was riding a bicycle, pulled over after seeing them.

Provincial police information chief Sr. Insp. Jacqueline Gahid said Augusto suddenly pulled out a gun and fired twice, hitting Jerry in the head and back.

Augusto fled on a motorcycle.
The victim was rushed to the Penaranda Rural Health Unit, where he was declared dead on arrival.
Probers recovered at the crime scene a deformed bullet and two spent shells for a cal. 45 gun.
Gahid said they are eyeing love triangle as possible motive for the killing.
