Davao stings leave 1 dead

SEPARATE buy-bust operations by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Davao province left one armed suspect dead and another arrested, PDEA Director General Isidro S. Lapeña reported yesterday.

The official said that suspect Ramil Palma, a resident of Sitio Bida, Barangay Balagunan in Santo Tomas, Davao del Norte was killed while exchanging fire with members of the PDEA Regional Office 11 and the local police who raided his house on the strength of a search warrant for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
PDEA Region 11 operatives under Director Adzhar Albani recovered some 10 grams of shabu worth P50,000, a loaded caliber .38 revolver, a cal. .45 magazine, a fragmentation grenade and assorted drug paraphernalia inside the slain suspect’s house.
In Davao City, PDEA Region 11 agents arrested Nazor Macalimbol, a 20-year old employee of the Department of Trade and Industry Region 11 and his pals Paul Interpido and Benjie Mise, both 27, during an entrapment operation along Kilometer 6 in Orchids Street.
Recovered from the suspects were a plastic packet containing an estimated P3,000 worth of shabu, some 10 grams of dried marijuana fruiting and the marked money paid to them by an agent.
