CIDG nabs PRO2’s most wanted

CAMP Olivas, Pampanga -- A suspected communist rebel, who has pending frustrated murder case and listed as most wanted by Police Regional Office 2, was arrested by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in San Jose City, Nueva Ecija, over the weekend.

Senior Supt. Christopher Abrahano, CIDG Region 3 chief, identified the suspect as Joel Caliwliw, alias “Ka Joco”, 43, vice commanding officer of the KLG Caraballo Command of the New People’s Army.

The said communist rebel’s command is reportedly operating in Nueva Ecija, Nueva Vizcaya and Eastern Pangasinan.

The CIDG operatives arrested Caliwliw by virtue of warrants issued Judge Jose Godofredo Naui of Regional Trial Court Branch 37 in Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya, for frustrated murder in Criminal Case No. 4090 with recommended bail of P60,000, and issued by Judge Candice Magno of RTC Branch 30 in Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya, for rebellion in Criminal Case No. 5090 with no recommended bail.

The operation was conducted at Sitio Lomboy, Bgy. Tayabo, San Jose City. 

The suspect was temporarily detained at the Nueva Ecija detention CIDG cell before he will be presented to two courts for hearing of his cases.
