AGENTS of the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group this week tracked down 10 most wanted persons in their hiding places in the countryside, PNP-CIDG chief, Director Roel B. Obusan announced yesterday.
The arrests were made in the provinces of Bukidnon, Isabela, Zamboanga Del Norte, Capiz, Cebu, Cagayan, Misamis Occidental and Pampanga and in Bacolod City, the official said.
One of the suspects identified as Dante Baylosis, a man wanted for murder, was arrested by members of the CIDG Regional Office 10 and the Bukidnon police in his residence in Purok 4, Barangay 7 in Malaybalay City.
Another identified as Conrado Aquino Jr., a man wanted for carnapping and estafa charges was arrested by CIDG Region 2 operatives in Bgy. Dubinan West in Santiago City, Isabela.
On the other hand, another most wanted murder suspect who carries a P140,000 bounty on his head -- Jerim Villaroel -- was arrested by CIDG Region 9 officers in Bgy. Santa Cruz in Dapitan, Zamboanga del Norte.
The fourth identified as John Patrick Ivan Fernandez, the subject of a warrant of arrest for frustrated murder in relation to Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children against abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act was arrested by CIDG Region 6 personnel.
CIDG Region 6 agents headed by Superintendent Julius Caesar Mana also tracked down the fifth identified as Edvir John Sendico, a man wanted for car theft in his hiding place in Purok Crossing 8 in Bgy. Tangub, Bacolod City.
Another identified as Jonar Francis, a man wanted for four counts of qualified theft was arrested in Bgy. Poblacion in Sibulan, Negros Oriental.
On the other hand, CIDG Region 9 officers captured Val Bastasa, a man wanted for two counts of rape during a raid in his hiding place in South Curvada in Bgy. Galas in Dipolog City in Zamboanga del Norte.
