THE Police Regional Office 12 in Central Mindanao has earned the distinction of being the first among the 17 police regional offices nationwide to capture the most wanted persons in their jurisdiction.
Over the past two months, the PRO12 headed by Chief Superintendent Marcelo C. Morales topped the list for having the most number of arrested top ten Most Wanted Persons (MWPs) nationwide.
Records showed that the PRO12 arrested a total of 73 Top 10 Most Wanted Persons in April with a performance rating of 132.73 percent and arrested a total of 48 MWPs in May with a performance rating of 87.27 percent.
The PRO13 in Caraga Region headed by Chief Supt. Noli A. Romana placed second with a performance rating of 44.30 percent in April 2018 while the PRO4-A headed by Chief Supt. Edward E. Carranza was second in the performance rating of 54.73 percent last May.
The actual arrest of Top Ten MWPs in provinces, cities and municipalities in Region 12 contributed to the overall performance of the regional police force.
“I cannot let those criminals to remain unpunished, for as long as they are at-large, the possibility is their criminal activities continue and would still victimize people, because our job in the PNP is to develop peaceful communities,” said Morales.
“That is why we are working day and night to go after those wanted persons just to serve the ends of justice to their victims and to the nation as a whole and put them behind bars,” he added.
Morales said he has ordered his men to always be ready to defend themselves when making arrests.
“Instructions were already given to our police officers to hunt those wanted criminals, and if they resist arrest, surely they will end up dead,” the official said.
