Carpenter nabbed for P400-K shabu

Police, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 4A, arrested a 40-year-old
carpenter for possession of 50 grams of suspected shabu in Sitio Silangan, Bgy. Lecheria, Calamba
City, on Wednesday night.

Supt. Reynaldo Maclang, Calamba police chief, identified the suspect as Romeo Amoranto,
alias Romeo.
Police were conducting an anti-illegal drug operation at 11:25 p.m. One of the operatives
acting as poseur-buyer was able to purchase shabu worth P500.
At this instance, the poseur-buyer gave the prearranged signal to the back-up team and
arrested the suspect, who yielded the buy-bust money, 12 pieces ransparent plastic sachets of
suspected shabu with approximate weight of 50 grams worth P400,000, two P100 bills and an orange
shoulder bag.
The suspect was detained at the Calamba City Jail.
The pieces of evidence will be brought to RCLO4-A, Camp Vicente Lim, Bgy. Mayapa, Calamba
City, for drug and laboratory tests while cases for violation of Secs. 5 and 11, Article II of RA
9165 will be filed against the suspect before the City Prosecutor in Calamba City.
