The six were presented to PNP chief Director General  Oscar Albayalde by Calabarzon director Chief Supt. Edward Carranza during the 117th Police Service Anniversary held at this camp on Tuesday.

Carranza said elements of Regional Intelligence Division (RID) 4A Quezon Provincial Intelligence Team (PIT), Quezon Regional Special Operations Unit (RSOU) and personnel of Calauag Municipal Police Station arrested Efren Solares, alias Ka Arkie/Jamley at Bgy. Mulay, Calauag.

Solares, of Bgy. Burgos Mulanay, is a member of NPA who served as Baseng Masa and informant in the area of Bondoc Peninsula.

Solares has been charged with murder before the RTC Branch 61 in Gumaca, Quezon.

Carranza also stated that five members of the NPA surrendered to the office of the Regional Intelligence Division at Sitio Tamala, Bgy. San Marcelino, General Nakar, Quezon.

The surrender was a result of the joint intelligence operation of RID4A led by Supt. Serafin Fortuno Petalio II and Army’s 202nd Brigade led by Capt. Gemira Dy.
