Brods’ knife duel: 1 dies, 1 wounded

ONE died and one was wounded as two butchers stabbed each other over a grudge last Friday afternoon inside a public market in Silang Cavite.

Police identified the two who duelled with 12 inch long butcher knives as Ricardo Galvez and Leyton Bachiller, both working at Silang Public Market, Bgy. San Miguel 2, and also Silang  residents.

Galvez suffered seven stab wounds and died at Estrella Hospital while Bachiller suffered four stab wounds and was brought to Silang Specialist Medical Center for treatment.

Police said the two started cussing each other at 5 p.m. They grabbed butcher knives and squared off before marketgoers.

When they fell to the ground, they were taken to hospital.

Meanwhile, a father-and-son lost their money to holdup men just inside their house gate after they parked their car in Trece Martires at 8 p.m. last Friday.
Dominador Sangalang and his son Dominador were alighting from their Nissan Navara in their residence at Bgy. Lapidario, Trece Martires City when the suspects rushed in with gun drawn and announced the holdup.
After taking P87,999, the suspects, escaped.
Police said the suspects reportedly waited for the vistims’ arrival.
