Briton drowns in Palawan

A british national drowned while swimming with his lady friend the other day in El Nido, 

Palawan.The victim was identified as Kevin Bui, 27, temporarily staying at Bamboo Billabong, Bgy.
Buena Suerte, El Nido.

Reports reaching Camp Crame said that the incident occurred at around 2 p.m. in Sitio Duli,
Bgy. Bucana, El Nido, Palawan
Investigators said the victim, together with his friend, identified as Alina Fritz, a
German national, 22, were swimming some 40 meters away from the shoreline when the accident
While swimming, the two encountered big waves so Alina asked the victim to hurriedly go
back to the shore but it was too late as the latter disappeared.
A group of lifeguards found the victim floating unconscious and brought him to the shore
for first aid to possibly revive him but to no avail.
He was then brought to Rural Health Unit (RHU) where he was declared dead on arrival by an
attending physician.
